Purpose

The BD Manager drives the growth of the company by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential customers or partners, and expanding the commercial market presence. This position requires passion, resourcefulness, attention to detail and the ability to work with little supervision.

Objectives:

  • Growing the business (grow revenue stream and increase customer base).
  • Maintaining strong relationships with customers.
  • Elevate corporate branding by creating a strong Customer Value Proposition.

Main responsibilities

Commercial Market:

  • Generate and follow-up on leads obtained through personal contacts, provided lead lists, and interaction at trade shows.
  • Build and maintain long-lasting client relationships.
  • Make recommendations to management as a result of market analysis and sales results.
  • Maintain competitive edge by actively monitoring competitor initiatives and activities, and by gather information on products, merchandising tactics, delivery schedules and pricing.
  • Lead or assist proposal development, and FRQs.
  • Update and maintain CRM

Military Market:

  • Support the department in its activities toward military contracts. 

Daily Operations:

  • Manage marketing strategy.
  • Follow-up with related departments to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Track and maintain sales and performance statistics.
  • Present regular reports to keep management up to date on results of all sales and lead-generation activities.

Your ideal background

  • Must have some relevant experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in BD, sales role, preferably in Aerospace (MRO).
  • Very comfortable with cold-calling, prospecting, and lead generation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships, excellent with customer facing.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, and ability to close deals.
  • Enjoys helping people and is very customer oriented.
  • Self-motivated and dynamic.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Bilingual French-English.
