As part of our continued growth, we are strengthening our internal design and drafting capabilities to support manufacturing and repair activities.

At M1, the mission comes first: quality, safety, and rapid turnaround time are at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role

We are looking for a CAD Modeling Technician to support the modeling and detailing of aerospace components, both metallic and composite. This role supports manufacturing and, when required, repair activities by producing accurate 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with approved data and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating and modifying 3D models and 2D drawings for aerospace components and assemblies, metallic and composite
  • Supporting manufacturing by producing detailed drawings, models, and documentation suitable for tooling, fabrication, and assembly
  • Supporting repair activities by creating or updating models and drawings based on approved repair data
  • Ensuring all drawings and models comply with applicable aerospace standards, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA)
  • Applying proper drawing practices including tolerances, materials, finishes, and notes
  • Collaborating with engineering to interpret specifications, repair data, and design intent
  • Working with manufacturing and quality teams to address drawing clarifications, non-conformities, and design changes
  • Maintaining configuration control, revision history, and proper document management
  • Supporting continuous improvement of CAD standards, templates, and modeling practices

Your Ideal Background

  • The ideal candidate holds a technical diploma or equivalent training in CAD, drafting, aeronautics, mechanical design, or a related field, with experience in aerospace modeling.
  • Experience with both metallic structures and composite components is strongly preferred.
  • CATIA 3D Experience proficiency is a must
  • Familiarity with aerospace CAD tools and PLM/document control systems is an asset.
  • Bilingual (French and English*).

* The position requires a very good knowledge of English, both oral and written. The position involves reading and understanding technical documents in English on a daily basis, especially from international companies, as well as regular communication with customers, suppliers and other international stakeholders.
