What You’ll Do
As a Composite Technician, you’ll perform composites repairs on a large variety of aircraft components, and to contribute to the manufacturing of various aircraft parts. The job will need you to design and manufacture molds and other tools (templates, etc.) to help you perform your tasks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure that the work is performed according to quality standards, documentation, policies and procedures of M1 Composites and applicable regulations (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA etc.);
- Inform the quality manager of any irregularities related to the maintenance work;
- Perform damage inspection;
- Determine the repair plan;
- Choose and adjust the equipment;
- Identify the necessary equipment;
- Carry out refurbishment;
- Control the quality of raw materials and finished parts;
- Ensure the maintenance of production tools;
- Design the molds, if necessary;
- Perform the design and manufacture of tooling & composite parts, jigs, molds and prototypes using the appropriate molding technique or the appropriate molding process;
- Ensure that his workspace is clean and safe at all times.
What You Bring (Qualifications/Skills)
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) or a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in composite materials, processing technology or DEC/DEP in aeronautics or aircraft maintenance;
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in composite materials;
- Attention to detail;
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals;
- Proactive with problem solving skills;
- To be meticulous in your workmanship and documentation;
- Initiative, resourcefulness, and sense of responsibility;
- Ability to work well in a team, as well as alone with little supervision;
- Bilingual (French and English*) is a major asset.
* The position requires a very good knowledge of English, both oral and written. The position involves reading and understanding technical documents in English on a daily basis, especially from international companies, as well as regular communication with customers, suppliers and other international stakeholders.
