About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the organization’s financial structure, reporting, and performance analysis. This position acts as a critical link between Finance, Operations, and IT, providing timely and actionable insights related to costs, margins, efficiency, and inventory. The role also supports month-end close activities, audits, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Monitor project costs, revenue recognition, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) for major manufacturing programs
  • Produce weekly cost and margin analysis by project and customer, including repair and MRO activities
  • Participate in the monthly financial close process in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Prepare periodic financial reports, including budget vs. actual analyses, with clear explanations of variances (efficiency, absorption, work orders, pricing, etc.)
  • Analyze inventory usage and turnover, and recommend operational and financial efficiency improvements
  • Support annual physical inventory counts and cycle counts; investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain, enhance, and optimize ERP systems to support financial reporting and cost structures
  • Support preparation of tax-related documentation (GST/QST) and coordinate SR&ED credit claims with external advisors

 

Your Ideal Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or cost control (manufacturing, aerospace, or MRO experience is a strong asset)
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (Quantum is an advantage)
  • CPA designation
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate financial data into clear operational and business insights
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on operational environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across department
  • Bilingual (French and English*).

* The position requires a very good knowledge of English, both oral and written. The position involves reading and understanding technical documents in English on a daily basis, especially from international companies, as well as regular communication with customers, suppliers and other international stakeholders.
